Great question, Hugh. From science, the only true minimum is 2 drinks for men and 1 drink at a time for women. That was one of the things I share in my article about why you SHOULDN'T quit immediately when you are thinking about drinking. Here's the link to it - https://medium.com/ainyf-alcohol-is-not-your-friend/why-you-shouldnt-immediately-stop-drinking-alcohol-if-you-re-thinking-about-quitting-64e446c5a8fc

If you are one of those people who can drink 1 or 2 drinks and NOT desire to drink more (this is hard, but there are people who can do this), then you could be fine.

However, if you are like a lot of people (definitely me) and if you drink one, then there is no way in hell you will only drink one or two, then abstaining is probably for the right decision for you.

This typically means you don't have that "off" switch and the chemical response of how alcohol works on your endorphin/dopamine receptors make this very difficult for you.

I explain this in a bit more detail in the science of WHY alcohol is bad for you. You can find that one here - https://medium.com/ainyf-alcohol-is-not-your-friend/the-science-of-why-you-should-quit-bb4f21e41c9c

Hope that helps, my man, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions.

Good luck!
